Discover what happened
A huge thanks to all who came to our Women in The Food Industry event at The Conduit on the evening of 12th December which we co-hosted with our friends Todelli®. It was a great way for use to round off 2023 and we have exciting plans for events in 2024 including being on here - yes, this is our first proper post on Substack.
Our awesome panel was ably chaired by food writer Jenny Linford, who led a lively and inspiring discussion on sustainability, equality in hospitality, heritage and authenticity and much more with chefs award-winning Sally Abé Consultant Chef at The Pem Restaurant, private chef, The Roux Scholarship finalist and cookbook writer Sabrina Gidda and renowned consultant chef of Manchester Utd Anjula Devi and Hélèna Dove, the Head of the Kitchen Garden at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
In addition to the panel everyone had a great night shopping and sampling from our Festive Ethical Food Fair which showcased a wide range of handcrafted, locally sourced & produced food and drinks products from female founded and co-founded businesses.
These businesses included Alexa Fernandez of Chili Maven , Divya Malhotra-Mulloy of Heartfull, Prodigy snacks, Prerna Baruah of Food of Gods, Roni Bandong of RoniB’s Kitchen, Manayi, Colette Safhill of Myth Drinks, Anna Chalov of Bemuse | B Corp™ , Alice Wainwright of RiSE coffee box, Louise Macnab of JERMS , Olivia Saville of PRESS Healthfoods, Danielle David of Kromanti Rum Ltd , Roseanne Cole of Ro’s Kitchen, Sohn Supradya Aursudkij of Drink JIN JIN & more.

All ticket earnings went to the charity School Food Matters which teaches children about where their food comes from and aims to ensure they have healthy meals at school. It was a delight to see some of the team who were selling tote bags and tea towels on the night too.
Our friends at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Publishing also had books from Hélèna Dove, and Jenny Linford, which made excellent Christmas presents.
Huge thanks to Rosie Fletcher , Kitty Vaughan-Fowler , Gina Decio and Maimoona Junjunia the awesome team from The Conduit for their work in helping us put this event together. Our co-founder Mex Ibrahim said: “As co-founder of Women In The Food Industry & along with Todelli®‘s founder Hara Mihailidou I can’t thank them enough for their trust and support and we really hope to do more events with them in 2024.”
